What does your business actually run?
Here's a question worth asking before you buy anything new: if your office computer stopped working tomorrow, could you list every account it was signed in to?
If the answer is "not really," that's normal. Over the years a business collects software, devices, logins, vendors, and connections, and nobody ever writes them down in one place. Each piece made sense when it was added. Together, they're a picture nobody has seen.
A simple place to start
Open a spreadsheet and add a row for each tool your business uses. For each one, note:
- What it is and what it's used for
- Who owns the login
- Who gets the bill
- What it connects to, like your email, your bank, or another app
- Where its data lives
Don't forget the quiet ones: the printer, the router your internet provider installed, the shared email account, and the app one person set up and everyone else forgot about.
Why it matters before AI
Every AI company you talk to will ask what you already run. Without a list, you're guessing, and they're guessing too. With one, you can have a real conversation about what's worth changing and what should stay as it is.
When you want the whole picture
That's what The Map is for. We talk with each part of your business and look at the software and devices you run. You get a clear document and diagram of what you have and how it fits together. It's just the facts, with no sales pitch and no list of problems. You own it, and you can take it to any AI company you like.
From there, Opportunities looks at what's worth fixing, and Managed IT keeps your Map current as your business changes.
